The Manchaca Optimist Youth Sports Complex (MOYSC) is a non-profit, recreational baseball and softball program which serves the young people of Central Texas. It has its roots in the Manchaca area since Mr. Rex Kitchens first donated some land to the Manchaca Optimist Club back in 1963 to use for youth baseball “as long as the kids wanted to play there”. The Rex Kitchens fields were closed in 2004 and relocated further down FM 1626 and have reopened as one of the area’s premier sports complexes. MOYSC offers kids from ages 4 to 14 the opportunity to play ball regardless of skill level or financial situation. We turn no child away who wants to play. The Manchaca complex is a PONY affiliate and has both a competitive Spring Season as well as a fundamental Fall Season. The 7 magnificent ball fields are now well established and provide our young players some of the finest playing surfaces available to any recreational players in the state.
To provide a fun and safe learning environment for young people while helping to develop both their athletic and social skills.
Use of Funds Raised:
Funds generated through the FDC program will be ear- marked to be used toward the completion of our heavily anticipated new rest room facilities. The rest rooms are nearly complete but still need partitions, paint and a few other final touches so they can be officially opened.
